Cross Stitch Rocks

My other hobby is cross-stitching and several of my rocks are based on cross stitch designs.  This one is a traditional sampler:

Rocking the Roads

This was the first batch of rocks I did for myself to hide in the streets and roads around our local Primary School.  I went out just before the school leaving off time and hid them on the street signs for the children to find.

Little fishes

I love rainbow colours and these are very easy to do.  Draw the outline of the face of the rock using red, then colour just inside with orange, then yellow and so on.  Do the same for each face and then fill the gaps in with pink.  For the second set I started with purple and worked though blue, green, yellow etc.

More rainbows.
The one on the right is a simple zigzag all around the rock.

An attempt at mandalas, again in rainbow colours.

Just using one section of the colour spectrum for these

This rock was undercoated with white paint and I used a black Sharpie to draw the Paisley patterns.

The Murderer's Ape

This was a rock based on the cover of our Children's Book of the Month.  The competition was for children to guess which book it came from and then they won the rock.
